Colorado College, Texas Lutheran, Trinity Earn USTFCCCA Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's track & field teams earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team honors for the 2014-15 academic year.

Colorado College held the top grade point average among SCAC schools, posting a 3.45 through the year. CC was the only conference institution represented on both the men's and women's side.

Texas Lutheran University held a 3.31 GPA through the year, while Trinity University followed with a 3.23.

To earn All-Academic Team honors, a team must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.10 or higher.

Trinity student-athletes Sarah Pickett and Britney Sullivan earned All-Academic honors individually for their performance in the class room.

Pickett, a recent graduate in biology, earned the honor for her first time. Pickett held the SCAC's top mark in the high jump (1.65 meters), which ranked 26th among all NCAA Division III competition.

Sullivan, a rising sophomore majoring in Spanish and business, took the academic honor after her first collegiate season. Sullivan was successful on and off the track this year, taking first place in three events at the SCAC championships, while also earning a bid to the NCAA Championship meet. She was the only SCAC female to compete at the NCAA Championship, taking home 19th place in the triple jump.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either of the following athletic standards:

- Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship

- Finished the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org
