Three SCAC Men's Golfers Earn Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar Honors

NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America announced the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars Thursday, and three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference student-athletes earned recognition. Full Release

Schreiner University’s Cheyne Kendall and Jimmy Keener were awarded for their success in the classroom. They were also joined on the list by Texas Lutheran University’s Stephan Bratz. Kendall earned the honor for the second time in his career, while Keener and Bratz earned their first.

Keener and Kendall also earned second-team Ping All-America honors earlier this summer after a successful season on the course. Keener was the top SCAC finisher at the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship, taking fifth place with an even-par 288. Kendall finished behind him at 293 (+5) for 13th place.

To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 77.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
