Austin College
The 'Roos hosted McMurry this weekend, but fell 8-1 to the War Hawks. The team's lone point came in the No. 6 singles spot from Kate Barber in her first dual match appearance for the 'Roos. The match of the day turned out to be Carlye Lide against Camacho at Line 5 singles.  Lide struggled to find her consistency in the first set, dropping it 6-0.  But in the second set, Lide chose wisely when the opportunity to attack presented itself and fought off several match points to take the second set to "extra-innings."  However, Camacho proved too steady down the stretch as the final ball of the match sailed long to clinch a 6-0, 7-5 victory for the War Hawks.

Schreiner University
The Mountaineers opened the dual match season this weekend with wins over Sul Ross State and Southwestern. Friday, Schreiner defeated SRSU 7-2 at home, beginning with two wins in doubles. In the No. 3 spot, Brooke Ohlman and Alex Wheeler defeated their opponent 8-0. Kelsey Buczkowski and Katie Watts earned an 8-1 win in the No. 2 spot. Brittney Garza and Payton Nelson each posted 6-0, 6-0 wins in the No. 3 and No. 4 singles spots, respectively. Karyn Swink and Madeline Scotch also won in straight sets to clinch the victory. The following day, the Mountaineers took on Southwestern, defeating the fellow SCAC-member 5-4. The Mountaineers swept the doubles matches to get out to a quick 3-0 lead. Southwestern fought back, winning four of the six singles matches, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.

Southwestern University
The Pirates opened their spring dual match season at Schreiner to face the Mountaineers and Sul Ross State. The Pirates fell to Schreiner 5-4 before rebounding with a 7-2 win over SRSU. Schreiner swept the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead on the day. The Pirates tried to come back, winning four of the six singles matches, but the Mountaineers held them off. Julie Sets won in the No. 1 spot, 6-2, 6-4, while Nicole Wilson took the No. 4 line 6-1, 6-1. Maranda Kahl followed suit with a 6-1, 604 win in the No. 6 singles and Kali Rose won No. 5 singles 6-4. 4-6, 6-2. Later that day, the Pirates took down SRSU. Rose/Wilson teamed up to take the No. 2 doubles 8-0 and Virginia Stofer paired with Kahl in the No. 3 spot, winning their match 8-0. The Pirates dropped the No. 1 singles match, but swept the other five to secure the win.
