Trinity Soars Up Seven Spots to No. 11 in D3baseball.com Poll

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Trinity University baseball team jumped up seven spots to take the No. 11 spot in the third installment of the D3baseball.com poll. FULL RANKINGS

The Tigers moved to 12-2 on the season and are now on an eight game winning streak, as they went 4-0 over their competition last week.

Trinity began the week with a 4-3 win over DeSales thanks in part to a three run fourth inning and excellent pitching from Zack Speer, Nick Griffith, and Matt Tindall.

The Tigers then took on conference opponent Schreiner University in a three game, non-conference series, in Kerrvile. Trinity would earn the sweep, taking the first game, 4-1, the second game, 5-3, and the final game, 10-2. In the final game, the quartet of Ryan Gray, Chris Tate, Troy Nelson, and Taylor Hoesen combined to throw the Trinity's first no-hitter in nine years, striking out 15 batters despite walking 12.

Trinity will welcome in Our Lady of the Lake on Tuesday before opening SCAC play by welcoming in Centenary College for a three game series.
