Trinity Tigers drop to No. 2 spot in NSCAA rankings

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Trinity University women's soccer team (2-0-1) dropped one spot in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Division III national poll this week, moving to the No. 2 spot after earning one dominating road win against Berry College and a double-overtime draw with No. 7 Emory College.

The Tigers are also ranked No. 1 in the NSCAA's West Regional poll, while Austin College (4-1-0) earned a No. 10 ranking after picking up their first loss of the season this weekend to the University of Texas-Dallas. Complete Poll

D3soccer.com also released their first poll of the fall season, listing the Tigers at No. 6, receving 482 points. Complete Poll

The Tigers traveled to Atlanta this weekend, taking on the No. 7 team Friday. The team's lone goal came from All-American Kelsey Falcone in the 57th minute to tie the game at one. Despite a last second chance  in the first overtime period for the Tigers, neither team was able to get a point, leading to a 1-1 draw.

The Tigers headed up the road to Berry College, earning a dominating 4-0 win over the Vikings. Four different members of the team recorded a goal, including All-American Emily Jorgens, who put in her shot off of one of Falcone's two assists for the day. Yasmeen Farra scored next in the 26th minute off of an assist from Kimberly Polasek. The Tigers didn't mark another point until the 79th minute when Hannah Hommel scored on her only shot of the day off of an assist from Maggie Olvera, who got a goal of her own just four minutes, assisted by Falcone.

The Tigers will continue with road games, taking on the University of Texas-Tyler Friday evening before heading to University of Texas-Dallas Sunday.
