LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) has announced a partnership
with SportsGram, one of the largest internet sports broadcasters in
Texas, to broadcast seven of its 11 conference championship events
during the 2014-15 academic year.
The conference has had a relationship with SportsGram since
February of 2012, but this agreement takes the partnership to a new
level. Every team sport championship will be covered during the
2014-15 athletics season, with SportsGram as the exclusive
broadcast provider, beginning next weekend with three broadcasts at
three different venues. Every match of the SCAC Men’s Soccer
Championship, SCAC Women’s Soccer Championship and SCAC
Volleyball Championship will be available for viewing on a
pay-per-view basis.
“The costs of producing these championship events were
becoming too much for the host school to continue to take on by
itself,” said SCAC Commissioner Dwayne Hanberry. “The
pay-per-view model allows us to produce a consistent, high-quality
product – using multiple cameras with play-by-play announcers
and a color commentator at each venue. With half of all revenue
generated going back to the conference to help with the production
costs of these events, we trust that our parents and fans will find
value in these productions.”
