Trinity Remains in  No. 3 Spot in NSCAA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Trinity University women’s soccer team remains in the third spot on the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Top 25 Poll after the fifth week of play.

The Tigers had another successful week, defeating non-conference opponent Mary Hardin-Baylor 3-0 Wednesday evening before sweeping conference play over the weekend. In the Tigers’ two weekend matches, they did not allow a single shot from Schreiner University or Texas Lutheran University, winning the games 4-0 and 6-0, respectively.  

The Tigers put up a total of 77 shots through the two games, with 42 on goal. SCAC Offensive Player of the Week Kelsey Falcone marked a goal in each of the Tigers’ three games through the week, while adding three assists. Emily Jorgens also put up three goals this week, adding in four assists.

The Trinity defense only allowed two shots to be taken through the three games, both coming from UMHB.

The Tigers are now 4-0 in the SCAC and 9-0-1 overall. They will continue conference play Wednesday against Southwestern University in Georgetown.
