Trinity's Araujo Earns D3soccer.com All-American Honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – In a release Tuesday, D3soccer.com announced the 2014 Men’s All-America teams, with one Trinity University player earning a spot on third team. Full Release

Victor Araujo, a senior midfielder from Salvador, Brazil, earned a spot on the team after finishing the season with nine goals and a conference-leading 10 assists for 28 total points. Four of Araujo's nine goals were game-winners, including a crucial score in the 90th minute of play to break a 1-1 tie against Hardin-Simmons in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

This is Araujo’s second year to be named to the D3soccer.com All-American team after earning a spot on Second-Team last season. He previously earned NSCAA All-West Region First Team and All-SCAC Second Team honors.

Araujo and the Trinity offense ranked fifth in the nation, averaging 3.27 goals per game. In the final D3soccer.com poll, the Tigers were ranked sixth after finishing the season with a 24-2-0 record and falling in the NCAA quarterfinals to Wheaton College.
