TYLER, Texas – The Trinity University Tigers Men’s Tennis team had a successful performance at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championships Monday.
The Tigers swept the “A” singles and doubles titles at the tournament. Junior Adam Krull, the No. 2 singles seed, beat the No. 8 seed 6-2, 6-2 in the final. In the doubles championship, which involved only Trinity players, seniors Jordan Mayer and Aaron Skinner made up the No. 4 team, claiming the title over the No. 2 seeded pair of Paxton Deuel and Krull 3-6, 6-2, 14-12.
Krull has now secured a spot in the USTA/ITA National Small College Championships in October. Mayer and Skinner will also be at the event in the doubles category.
In the singles semifinals, Krull defeated Skinner while Deuel was taken down by the No. 8 seed from McMurry.
The men will join Tigers’ Liza Southwick and Marie Lutz, who won the Regional women’s doubles crown, at the National Small College Championships.
