Schreiner Up to Ninth; Peterson and Keener in Top 10 at Nationals

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After three days of competition, the Schreiner Mountaineers moved up a spot into a tie for ninth place as they prepare for the final round at the NCAA Championship. Team Leaderboard | Player Leaderboard

Adam Peterson continues to lead the SCAC individualsa and will enter that final round seven strokes out of the lead and even-par for the championship. He carded back-to-back 1-under 71s to open things up before Thursday's 74.

The senior started the third round with two straight bogeys, and three bogeys in the five holes. He steadied himself after that, recording three pars and a birdie over the next four holes. He wrapped up the front nine 2-over.
 
Peterson started the back with five more pars in a row before tallying a bogey on the par-4 15th. He managed to get that stroke back by birdieing the par-4 17th.

Meanwhile, Schreiner shot a +9 on the day, the fifth highest score as a team in the third round. The Mountaineers are behind leader Berry College by 18 strokes. Positions six through nine are all separated by only five strokes going into tomorrow.

Jimmy Keener led the way, shooting even par in the round as he sits in a tie for eighth place with an overall score of +1. 

Cheyne Kendall added a third round score of +1 while Matt McClung and Phillip Stewart each shot a +4 in the round. Zach Oliver had a tough day for the Mountaineers, shooting a +10 in the third round. 

Cody Hebert had a nice day on the course for Southwestern University, competing as an individual and shooting a +3 on the day. He is tied for 34th as he is +7 for the championship.

Hebert will start the final round off tomorrow morning as he tees off at 8:15 AM. Peterson will then tee off at 9:15 AM. Meanwhile, Schreiner will look to make up some ground in the final round, teeing off at 8:50 AM.
