KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Colorado College (9-1-0, 5-0 SCAC) and Trinity University (9-1-0, 5-0 SCAC) both moved up this week on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Top 25 poll.
The Trinity Tigers moved up one spot from No. 4 to No. 3, while the Colorado College Tigers jumped three spots to No. 16.
The two teams swept their conference matches this weekend to remain in a tie for first. Trinity defeated Schreiner and Texas Lutheran 7-0 and 1-0, respectively, while Colorado College took down Austin College 2-0 and the University of Dallas 3-0.
Colorado College and Trinity lead the conference in almost every individual statistical category, including goals, assists, shots, shots on goal, points, penalty kicks and game-winning goals. CC goalkeeper Theo Hooker leads the conference in goals against, allowing just one the whole season, and goals against average, 0.17 goals allowed per game. Hooker is also tied for the lead with four shutouts on the season.
Colorado College’s Brandon Ogilvie leads the conference with nine goals this year, while Trinity’s Johnny Lawson is behind by one with eight. Lawson leads the conference with 22 points, however, after adding six assists to his eight goals.
Both teams will continue action this weekend. Trinity will play Centenary College Friday, October 3 at home while Colorado College takes on Southwestern University. Sunday, Colorado College will head to McGinlay Field in San Antonio for a battle against Trinity.
