Schreiner Sits in 10th Place Through Two Rounds, Peterson Tied for Fourth

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After two days of competition, the Schreiner Mountaineers will continue on to the third round after finishing Wednesday in sole possession of 10th place. Team Leaderboard | Player Leaderboard

Adam Peterson continues to lead the SCAC individuals, finishing in a tie for fourth place with a total score of 142 (-2). Peterson notched four birdies through the day to post a 71 (-1) in the second round. He will continue on to the third round of competition as one of the top five individuals remaining.

Schreiner shot a 299 on Wednesday, moving their two round mark to 597 (+21). They are just 11 shots out of third place and 16 shots away from the top spot. Jimmy Keener continues to lead the team, posting a 73 through the day for a total score of 145 (+1), moving him into a tie for 17th place.

Cheyne Kendall is following Keener in a tie for 29th with a mark of 148 (+4) after posting identical rounds of 74 (+2), while Matt McClung and Zach Oliver are tied for 81st with scores of 153 (+9). Phillip Stewart is just one stroke behind the pair and tied for 98th place.

Southwestern University placed 22nd in the competition, just missing the cut as a team. The Pirates posted a 36-hole score of 613 (+37). Cody Hebert led the team in a tie for 29th place, shooting an even-par 72 on Wednesday to move up 44 spots from Tuesday. Hebert proceeded to win a  sudden death three-person playoff to earn an individual spot through the remainder of the competition. 

Connor Murphy finished second for the team, shooting a total score of 154 (+10), while teammate Sutherland Stith was just two shots behind him with a mark of 156 (+12). Tyler Gammill rounded out the scoring members of the team with a 158 (+14) and Jordan Cowart shot a 160 (+16).
