Austin's Stewart Inducted into NFF's Hampshire Honor Society

IRVING, Texas - Austin College senior football player Tre Stewart has been inducted into the National Football Foundation's prestigious Hampshire Honor Society, the organization has announced.

Stewart, a Rowlett native who finished his career with the Kangaroo football team in the fall, adds his induction to a long list of accolades including All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honors. The Hampshire Honor Society recognizes scholar-athletes as an expansion of the NFF's National Scholar-Athlete program.

"We continue to raise the bar each year for the number of student-athletes who qualify for membership in the Hampshire Honor Society," said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell. "The Hampshire Honor Society plays an important role in highlighting that college football players clearly play a leadership role in the classroom as well as on the playing field. We congratulate each of these young men for their commitment to excellence."

Stewart was a first team All-SCAC selection in 2015, ranking fourth in the conference in sacks with 4.5 on the year, and he was named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week once. He was also a member of the SCAC Academic Honor Roll and has been an active member of the Austin College community since arriving in Sherman.
