SCAC 15th Anniversary Teams

Throughout the 2005-2006 academic year, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference celebrated its 15th anniversary. A special logo commemorating the occasion was also used (pictured left).

In its first 15 years, the SCAC saw its membership grow from eight schools in 1991 to the current roster of 11, and sports sponsorship increased from 15 to 19. For a complete timeline listing the more memorable and historical moments over the first 15 years in the SCAC, check out the special anniversary timeline at the bottom of this page.

As part of the celebration, the SCAC office released a 15th anniversary all-SCAC team for each of its 18 conference-sponsored sports.

After the release of the final spring sport team, 297 former and current student-athletes were recognized as an all-anniversary recipient for his or her respective sport.

The teams were selected by the Athletics Directors, head coaches and sports information directors of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Did you know?
Until 1991, the SCAC was known as the CAC (College Athletic Conference)? The CAC was formed in 1962 with four charter members: Centre College, Southwestern @ Memphis (now Rhodes College), Sewanee-The University of the South, and Washington & Lee (Va.) University. Washington (Mo.) University joined the CAC later that same year.
