Trinity's Uribe, Colorado College's Grossenbacher, Ogilvie named to Capital One Academic All-District Team

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Two Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer players were named to the Capital One  Academic All-District team announced Thursday. Trinity University’s Simon Uribe and Colorado College’s Max Grossenbacher and Brandon Ogilvie were honored.

The two teams have secured the top spots in the SCAC during the regular season as Trinity remains the only undefeated team left with a record of 13-0 in conference-play. Colorado College has recorded just two losses in conference play, both to Trinity, and two draws to lead to a 9-2-2 record in the SCAC.

Trinity’s Uribe is an accounting and economics major with a 3.96 GPA. Uribe is a senior defender who started in all 17 games for the Tigers. Through the season, he has also marked three assists.

Colorado College’s Max Grossenbacher and Brandon Ogilvie are both biochemistry majors with GPAs of 3.81 and 3.53, respectively.

Grossenbacher has started in all of the Tigers games this season, marking 17 total points on seven goals and three assists. In addition he leads the SCAC with three made penalty kicks on four attempts.

Ogilvie is currently second in the SCAC for total goals (11), total points (24) and shots (70). Ogilvie has played and started in 16 games this season. Ogilvie and Grossenbacher are also tied with four game-winning goals which leads the conference.

Voting is conducted by members of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The Capital One Academic All-America Team will be announced November 21.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution  and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program’s inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
