Trinity Women's Soccer Moves up to No. 2 Spot in NSCAA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Trinity University women’s soccer team moved up to the No. 2 spot in the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Division III Top 25 Poll this week, after holding onto the No. 3 spot since September 16. Complete Poll

The Tigers continue to hold onto the top spot in the NSCAA West Region rankings, while they also moved up to No. 3 in the D3Soccer.com poll. Complete Poll

Trinity earned two more Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference wins this week, defeating Schreiner University 6-0 Friday and Texas Lutheran University 9-1 Sunday, improving to 9-0 in the SCAC and 15-0-1 overall. The Tigers continued their 14-game winning streak, as well as their 57-game unbeaten streak in SCAC matches, dating back to 2008.

Over the weekend, senior Emily Jorgens moved into the second spot in the SCAC record book for career points, with 182 after marking two goals and four assists in the two games.

The Tigers also swept the SCAC Player of the Week honors with Kelsey Falcone earning the offensive award and Kimberly Polasek taking the defensive. Falcone marked three goals and three assists on the weekend to earn the award, while Polasek led the Trinity defense that allowed just one shot between the two games.

The Tigers will continue SCAC competition this weekend, taking on Austin College and Dallas this weekend before finishing the regular season against Southwestern on October 31.
