Trinity Women's Soccer Drops to No. 3 in NSCAA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Trinity University women's soccer team (4-0-1) dropped one spot to No. 3 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Division III rankings this week, despite a successful weekend on the road. The Tigers still remain No. 1 in the NSCAA West Regional Poll and No. 6 in the D3soccer.com national poll. NSCAA National Rankings | Region Rankings

The Tigers took on the University of Texas-Dallas and the University of Texas-Tyler this weekend, earning identical 2-1 wins against each opponent.

Emily Jorgens, the leading scorer for the Tigers, recorded the game winning goal against UTT, after Emily Donnan put in the equalizer in the 38th minute. Jorgens goal came in the 60th minute off of an assist by Falcone. Jorgens and Falcone are tied with a conference-leading three assists on the season.

In the overtime defeat of UTD, Kelsey Falcone scored the first goal of the match, and her third goal of the season. Meredith Licata knocked in the game winner in the 93rd minute off of an assist from Emily Jorgens.

The Tigers will begin the conference season in north Texas this weekend, taking on Austin College Friday, September 19 and the University of Dallas Sunday, September 21.
