Trinity's Edholm Sets New Division III Record with Two Goals in Nine Seconds

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Zacharias Edholm of Trinity University set a new NCAA Division III record Friday afternoon with his performance against Schreiner University in the Tigers 3-0 win.

After scoring the eventual game-winner in the first half, Edholm finished a hat trick with two goals in the second half, scoring twice within nine seconds. This feat sets the new NCAA Division III record for fastest consecutive goals by the same player within a game. The previous record of 10 seconds was held by Cazz Warren of Adrian College and has been in place since September 11, 2009. Edholm’s pair of goals came at 77:02 and 77:11 in the game.

Edholm is a sophomore midfielder from Stockholm, Sweden. Through 15 games this season, Edholm has started twice, while putting up 14 points from seven goals. He is second on the team in goals scored, Johnny Lawson who has recorded 12. He is also third on the team for points this season, behind Lawson and Victor Araujo.
