Trinity's Uribe Named to NSCAA Scholar All-America Team

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Simon Uribe of Trinity University was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of American Men’s College-Division Scholar All-American second-team Wednesday. Full Release

Uribe, a senior from Cali, Colombia, majored in economics and business and boasts and impressive 3.96 GPA.

The midfielder earlier was selected for the NSCAA/Continental Tire Division III Men’s All-West Region First Team, the NSCAA Men’s College-Division All-South Region team, the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team, and the SCAC All-Tournament Team.

Uribe scored two goals during the season, both of which were game-winners, and posted three assists for seven points.  He also led a defense that gave up just 17 goals during the season, ranking 25th in Division III for goals-against average (0.65).

Trinity completed the campaign with a 24-2-0 record, tying a school mark for victories in a season.  The Tigers, led by Head Coach Paul McGinlay, won a third consecutive SCAC Championship (17th overall), and advanced to the NCAA Playoffs for the 13th straight time (18th in the past 19 years).
