TLU's Wilkerson and Barrolle Selected D3football.com All-Americans

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -
 Texas Lutheran University senior right guard Kendall Wilkerson and sophomore running back Marquis Barrolle received national recogntion on the D3football.com All-American Teams, released Friday afternoon.

Wilkerson was named a Third Team All-American, and Barrolle garnered Honorable Mention All-American honors.

Wilkerson and Barrolle join place-kickers Allen Cain and Holt Storrie and tight end Matt Ross as TLU's career D3football.com All-Americans. Cain was a First Team selection in 2011 and 2012. Ross was a Third Team choice in 2004, and Storrie garnered Honorable Mention in 2004 and Second Team honors in 2005.
 
Barrolle (Ingleside/Ingleside) and Wilkerson (Highlands/Goose Creek Memorial) previously collected 2014 All-American honors from USA College Football. Barrolle was a First Team selection, and Wilkerson was a Second Team selection among those honorees.
  
Wilkerson and Barrolle starred as the Bulldogs made the university's first-ever NCAA Division III playoff appearance. The Bulldogs went 9-2 overall and won the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship for a second consecutive year.
 
TLU received an at-large bid to the NCAA post-season and lost a road game to No. 2-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor 27-20 in the first round.
 
In the playoff loss to UMHB, Barrolle rushed for 224 yards on a SCAC-record 50 carries. He added six receptions and registered 264 all-purpose yards. The Bulldogs kept the ball a school-record 48 minutes, 22 seconds against the Cru.
 
Barrolle's All-American honor adds to a growing list of accolades for the 5-4, 150-pound sophomore. Barrolle earlier was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player-of-the-Year, First Team All-SCAC, and First Team All-South Region by D3football.com.
 
Barrolle won the NCAA Division III rushing title, with a school-record 1,792 yards in 11 games. 

Barrolle scored 14 touchdowns and set or tied TLU school marks for rushing yards in a game (288), rushing TDs in a game (4, tied with three others), total TDs in a game (4, tied with five others), points scored in a game (24, tied with five others), carries in a game (50), all-purpose yardage in a game (324), all-purpose yardage in a season (2,068), games with more than 200 yards rushing (4), and games with more than 100 yards rushing (8).
 
Barrolle also ranked among the 2014 NCAA DIII leaders in rushing yards per game (second, with 162.9) and in all-purpose yards per game (fifth, with 188).
 
Wilkerson, a four-year lettermen and four-year starter, paved the way for Barrolle and the TLU rushing attack, which ranked 14th in all of NCAA DIII. Wilkerson previously was named First Team All-South Region by D3football.com.

The Bulldogs also ranked eighth in total offense (498.0 per game), 19th in scoring offense (40.5), 22nd in sacks allowed (only 11 in 11 games), and ninth in first downs offense (288).
 
Wilkerson was a two-time All-SCAC First Team selection. He started 36 games and played in 40 in a four-year career.
