LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Schreiner University women’s golf team kicked off the spring season this week, traveling to Austin, Texas for the Linda Lowery Invitational.
The Mountaineers finished in second place, behind NCAA Division II Southern Arkansas University.

The Mountaineers started the Linda Lowery Invitational
strong, finishing Monday’s competition with a two shot lead
over the eventual champion SAU, but were edged out Tuesday by the
Muleriders. Kaycee Bankert led the Schreiner squad in a tie for
second place overall, shooting a 174. Maddie Scheidler finished
came in three shots behind Bankert, finishing in a tie for fifth
place with a mark of 177. Melanie Dean and Allyson Graybill took
eighth and 11th, respectively, with scores of 179 and
182. Marissa Fallis rounded out the team with a 201, finishing in a
tie for 20th place.
