Trinity Women's Soccer Moves to No. 3 in NSCAA Rankings

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – After outscoring their opponents 16-1 this weekend, the Trinity University women’s soccer team dropped one spot to No. 3 on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Division III Top 25 Poll this week. Complete Poll

The Tigers remained in the top spot in the West regional rankings. The Trinity Tigers also held onto their No. 3 ranking on the D3Soccer.com poll for the second week in a row. Complete Poll

Texas Lutheran University also received a vote in the poll for the first time this season. This comes after the Bulldogs defeated Centenary 2-1 in an overtime battle on Friday night.

The Tigers defeated Austin College Friday evening 9-0. Kelsey Falcone recorded a hat trick in the game, beginning with a goal in the second minute of play. Falcone also marked one assist. Emily Jorgens put up two goals and three assists in the game, while Maggie Olvera marked three assists and one goal.

Sunday, the Tigers took down the University of Dallas 7-0. Jorgens put up two more goals and one assist. Olvera continued her success as well, marking two goals and one assist.

The Tigers defense allowed just three total shots between the two games, all of which came from Dallas, while they put up a combined 64 shots.

Trinity will finish conference play Friday evening against Southwestern University at home. This will be the team’s last game before the SCAC Championship beginning November 7.
