Three SCAC Men's Soccer Programs Earn NSCAA Team Academic Honor

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Three SCAC men's soccer programs were recognized with the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year, the organization announced on Monday. Complete NSCAA Release

Colorado College led the way for conference teams on the list with a 3.54 grade point average to earn the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the eighth year in a row and the 14th time since the recognition was instituted in 1996. The Tigers ranked third nationally among the 281 squads honored from all three NCAA Divisions.

Also from the SCAC, the Trinity University men's team had a cumulative 3.11 grade point average, and the University of Dallas followed with a 3.01 grade point average to earn recognition.

The NSCAA annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the pitch.

A total of 864 college soccer teams (281 men, 583 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year.
