LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Only two conference teams were in action this past weekend as we get ready to move into November and begin conference play.
Austin College
Austin College (4-3) finished their three game roadtrip
in Conway, Ark. as they took on the Hendrix Warriors (5-2). The
'Roos couldn't climb out of a 21-0 first quarter hole as their
comeback effort fell just short, losing 38-28.
Everytime it seemed Austin College was set to make a run, Hendrix had an answer as they came away with key plays in the second half to hang onto the victory.
Noah Jesko had a great day through the air, finishing 24-for-44 for 298 yards and three scores, finding 10 difference receivers in the process. One o ftop targets was Cooper Woodyard, who finished with four catches for 65 yards and two scores while Kyle Crawford had five catches for 72 yards and a score.
Defensively, Delmas Hoye led the way with nine tackles on the afternoon while Brooks Ward added eight tackles.
Conference play will open up next weekend as the 'Roos finally return home. They will welcome in Southwestern (1-5) on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. The two teams met in a non-confernece contest earlier in the year as the 'Roos were victorious, 20-13.
Southwestern University
Southwestern (1-5) was idle this past weekend. They
will return to action on Saturday as they open up conferene play
against the Austin College 'Roos (4-3).
Texas Lutheran
University
No. 16 Texas Lutheran (6-1) ran into a stiff test on
Saturday afternoon as they welcomed in second-ranked Mary
Hardin-Baylor (7-0) on Saturday afternoon in Seguin.
The Cru showed why they were one of the best teams in the nation and a contender for a national championship, as they scored 35 points in the second quarter, including 56 unanswered points going into the third quarter to take a 72-16 victory over TLU.
The Bulldogs were able to roll up 412 yards of total offense despite the loss, but committed five turnovers in the loss.
Trenton White finished 12-for-24 for 164 yards and a touchdown while Marquis Barrolle added 91 rushing yards on 24 carries. Caleb Oliver caught two balls for 64 yards and a score.
The Bulldogs will look to rebound next weekend as they welcome in Trinity (2-5) on Saturday for the start of conference play.

University
Trinity (2-5) was idle this past weekend. They will
return to action on Saturday as they open up conferene play against
the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs (6-1).
