AVERY TUGGLE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior outside hitter from Cedar Creek, Texas, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 18 through Sunday, October 24. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 8)

Tuggle
led the third-ranked Tigers to another undefeated weekend in SCAC play and the team's seventh victory over a nationally-ranked team in 2021 with 42 kills (3.23 per set) on an overall .288 hitting percentage. Tuggle led Trinity with 13 kills in the 3-1 victory over No. 7 Colorado College, one of three matches where she averaged 3.25 kills per set, then she marked a .429 attack clip on 12 kills for the Tigers' sweep of University of St. Thomas. Tuggle's 42 kills landed her in a tie for fifth all-time at Trinity in career kills with 1,419.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore setter Jenny Jenks of Colorado College averaged 11.55 assists and 4.36 digs per set while leading the Tigers to a 2-1 record at last week's crossover matches in Kerrville. She recorded three double-doubles with 44 assists and 12 digs in the sweep of Schreiner, 40 assists and 17 digs in the four-set loss to No. 3 Trinity, and 43 assists and 19 digs in the four-set win over No. 16 Southwestern. Jenks now has 18 double-doubles (assists-digs) this season, and climbed to eighth place on the program's single-season assists list with 1,089. Junior middle blocker Riley Brantley of Southwestern was the Pirates most efficient high-volume attacker this weekend, recording 28 kills for 2.15 per set on a .254 hitting percentage. She also recorded nine block assists and two solo blocks for 34.5 points over the weekend. Sophomore outside hitter Cassie Dyoub of Dallas was a dominant offensive force for the Crusaders this week, averaging 4.00 kills/set while racking up 28 kills in two non-conference games. She was at her absolute pinnacle in the midweek matchup with Arlington Baptist, recording 17 kills (her second-most of the season) and 12 digs for her second consecutive double-double and fourth of the season. Sophomore outside hitter Tanyse Moehrig-Woodard of Texas Lutheran was a major factor in the Bulldogs going 3-2 on the week, accumulating 49 kills over the course of five matches and averaging 2.72 per set. Junior outside hitter Kayla Lofland of Schreiner finished with 45 kills over the weekend (averaging 3.21 per set), which included the match-winner in the Mountaineers' 3-1 victory over St. Thomas. Senior setter Marichael Clarin-Jante of Centenary had another impressive week for the Ladies as she tallied 73 assists, 28 digs, six kills, and eight aces in three matches. She recorded 57 assists with 17 digs, seven aces and six kills in the Ladies' DH sweep over Mississippi University for Women at home on Saturday and added 16 assists, 11 digs, and an ace in a win over the Jarvis Christian Bulldogs last Wednesday on the road. Clarin-Jante entered last week's action ranked second in the SCAC in assists with 542. Senior setter Kelsie Walker of St. Thomas dished out 110 assists over the weekend, averaging 6.88 per set, and surpassed the 2,000 assist mark for her career.
