JACOB MASON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Westminster, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played through Monday, April 8. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 8)
Mason won the individual title at the West Region Invitational on Monday after shooting a seven-under score of 137 on the par-72 course. Mason opened the day with a two-under 70 that gave him just a one-shot cushion, but he exploded for a 67 in round two to win the tournament by five strokes. He carded a tournament-best 13 total birdies on the day, including seven in the second round to clinch the win.
Trinity also won the team title, finishing one shot clear of runner-up University of Texas-Dallas.
