CHRISTIAN SETTLES AND HAO NGUYEN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, have been named the SCAC Men’s Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Monday, March 15 through Sunday, March 21.
Settles, a junior from Claremont, Calif., and Nguyen, a sophomore from Sugar Land, Texas, recorded a pair of doubles wins over the weekend to lead Trinity's men's tennis team to a pair of shutouts at home over Concordia (Texas) and the University of Ozarks. The Tiger duo earned an 8-2 doubles win over Concordia to put the Tigers up 2-0 at the time, then came back Sunday with an 8-0 win that started off the scoring in the win over Ozarks.
Settles and Nguyen are now 6-5 in doubles this season, including a 4-1 mark against Division III opponents., 8-2.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Carlos Esteban and Drew Shuvalov of Southwestern defeated Colorado College's Jack Delafield and Andrew Kaelin 8-6 in No. 1 doubles this past week.
