NATHAN BROWN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior on the men's cross country and track & field teams from Houston, Texas has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Character and Community Male Student Athlete of the Week for the week beginning November 8.
The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.
Brown, an Anthropology major, is a six-time member of the SCAC Honor Roll and has made the Trinity Dean’s List six times in his career. He was also named to the SCAC All-Sportsmanship Team in the Spring of 2021.
Brown is among the leadership of the Reformed University Fellowship (RUF), which is a Christian student organization that serves the Trinity community. Brown is passionately involved in an initiative that is seeking a formal acknowledgement and recognition of our land belonging to Indigenous people. The social justice campaign is hoping to truly foster diversity and inclusion for all, highlighting Native Americans at Trinity and the San Antonio area.
This season, Brown and the Tigers finished second at the SCAC Championships on October 30, and will compete at the NCAA Regional Championships on Saturday, November 13, in Los Angeles, Calif.
