JONCONNOR RULE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior defender from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, October 24th through Sunday, October 31st. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 9)
Rule led the Trinity men's soccer team in clinching the SCAC Regular Season Championship with a scoreless draw against Colorado College on Friday night. Rule and the TU Tiger defense allowed just three on-target shots, holding Colorado College scoreless for the only time over a 16-game season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman defender Raghav Sharma of Southwestern steadied a Pirates defense that allowed just two goals last weekend in a pair of key conference victories ahead of the SCAC Tournament next weekend. Sharma also got involved offensively with the game-winning goal in Southwestern’s victory over Austin College on Friday night. Senior goalkeeper Caleb Weed of Texas Lutheran helped keep a clean sheet last Sunday, playing 75 of the 90 minutes in a 6-0 win over Austin College.
