SUWANEE, Ga. – Trinity junior right-handed pitcher Jackson Teer was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for week two of recognition in the 2024 season.
Teer dominated in his only appearance at this weekend's season-opening series for No. 22 Trinity (Texas) against Babson, ensuring the Tigers of a three-game sweep to start the year. Teer struck out 14 batters in seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit and one walk among his 24 batters faced in the game. He opened the game by striking out the side in the first two innings, then finished his outing with four strikeouts over the final two innings, and left the game with a 16-0 lead.
Earlier this week, Teer was also named SCAC Pitcher of the Week.
The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its 13th season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.
Teer is the third different SCAC athlete to earn national recognition this season, earlier this year, Dallas’ Adrian Montenegro and Southwestern’s James Vaquero were named to the inaugural D3baseball.com Team of the Week for 2024. This marks Teer’s third national honor from D3baseball.com being named to the national team of the week twice last year in week five and week eight.
