HOW IT HAPPENED
- Texas Lutheran sophomore Ezrael Powell was named the Men's Athlete of the Meet after he totaled 31.5 points. Powell picked up a win in the 200 meter dash and ran a leg on the victorius 4x100 relay team. He also added a second place showing in the long jump, was third in the 100 meter dash, fourth in the triple jump, and sixth in the high jump. He becomes the third consecutive Bulldog to earn the award and the fourth overall since 2015.
- Trinity junior Sean Majors set a new SCAC record in the long jump with a winning leap of 23' 11". Majors added a second place finish in the 400 meter dash (49.34), was sixth in the 200-meter dash (22.38), and ran a leg on the victorius 4x400 relay. Majors and teammates Steve Rodriguez, Josue Parra, and Ethan Gilmore turned in the second best time in SCAC championship meet history with their time of 3:18.39 in the 4x400 relay.
- Colorado College turned in impressive performances in the middle and long distance events. Josh Fry took home a win in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 3:58.57 while teammate Sam Rodriguez was second clocking in at 4:02.41. Fry also tallied the fifth-best time in meet history with his winning time of 1:54.48 in the 800 meter run. James Settles notched a win for the Tigers in the 5,000 meter run as he finished in 15:51.68. Michael Gorman took top honors in the 400 meter dash by clocking a time of 48.82, just two-tenths of a second from the fifth fastest time in SCAC championship meet history.
