TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the 2022 All-Academic Teams and Scholar Athletes Tuesday and eight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference programs, and 68 student-athletes were recognized.
Colorado College, Schreiner University, Southwestern University and Trinity University were all recognized as All-Academic teams on both the men's and women's side.
Individually, Colorado College paced all SCAC honorees with 20, followed by Southwestern with 18, Trinity with 16 and Schreiner rounded out the impressive list of 68 total individuals with 14.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2021 and spring 2022) and must be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) and 3.) be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
