GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) men’s student-athletes were named to CoSIDA's Academic All-District At-Large Team for their performances both on the court, in the pool, on the links and in the classroom, it was announced last week.
Colorado College’s Cole Thumann, Centenary College’s Richard Polan and Trinity University’s Cameron Krimbill were named to the 2021-22 Academic All-District® 8 First Team and now are eligible for Academic All-America consideration.
Thumann, who will graduate on Sunday, May 23, with a 4.00 grade-point average as a physics major and is making is second-straight appearance on the team, is the first student-athlete from CC to earn multiple Academic all-District honors since Keenan Amer of the men's soccer team in 2017 and '18.
The Katy, Texas, product was named the school's Van Diest Award winner earlier this month as the top male senior student-athlete. He won the 2020 SCAC champion in the 400-yard individual medley, earned all-conference honors each of his four seasons and is a member of the school-record 200- and 400-yard medley relay teams.
Polan, finished third at last month’s SCAC Championship, closed out his junior year with an adjusted scoring average of 73.70. A two-time All-SCAC performer, Polan also earned the prestigious SCAC Elite 19 award in 2021.
Krimbill, a three-time All-American posted a 3.83 undergraduate GPA upon his graduation from the Accounting program and currently carries a 4.00 average in his graduate curriculum, all while repeating as the SCAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year and receiving a return berth into the 2022 NCAA III Singles Championship next week in Orlando, Florida.
Krimbill has put together a 12-4 overall record in dual matches this season that features a 4-1 record against nationally-ranked competition in NCAA III regular-season and postseason play. The senior also earned his second Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Singles Championship this past fall, which earned him his third All-America designation.
