Nguyen dominated singles for No. 13 Trinity through its first two matches this season, scoring victories over ranked players from NCAA II and NAIA. The senior opened the season with a line-one 6-2, 6-1 victory over NCAA II UT-Permian Basin's No. 21 Takumi Katsuda then followed with a line-two 6-3, 6-2 mark over NAIA Our Lady of the Lake's No. 31 Johan Favelin.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Jace Ware of St. Thomas was competitive for the Celts in the squad's opening weekend match against Concordia (Texas). After dropping the opening set 6-1, Ware responded taking set two 8-6 before falling in the final set 10-8.
