WHEELING, W.Va. - Trinity University Men's Golf continued its ascent in the 2021 NCAA III Championship standings Thursday with a 299 (+15) round score in its return to the Robert Trent Jones Course of the Speidel Golf Club to land in the 10th spot in the newly-concentrated field.
The Tigers have made significant leaps in the leaderboard in both rounds since the opener Tuesday as they rose another six spots at 55-over through 54 holes.
Thursday's round for Trinity teed-off from the par-four 10th hole with a lineup shuffle based on individual standings.

The Rundown
Trinity's third round was paced once again by a sophomore, this time Holden Wisener who rebounded from his six-over performance Wednesday to finished at par (71) on the Jones Course with birdies on two par-fours (sixth and 18th) and the par-five fifth.
Wisener has played at an even pace over his last 27 holes since he started the back nine of the Palmer Course yesterday and marked a six-stroke improvement over his first crack at the Jones Course Tuesday.
Fellow sophomore Daniel Nunez kept his recent upward momentum rolling as he punched in a three-over (74) card with a pair of par-five birdies on the fifth and 14th and a par-four bird on the 17th.
Nunez's 74 on Thursday was a nine-stroke improvement over his first round on the Jones Tuesday.
Junior DJ Springer checked in at four-over (75) and did so with consistency through 12 pars and a lone birdie to lead-off the day on the 10th.
The remaining pair of Tigers, senior Bryce Pidgeon and sophomore Zac Bunder, marked 79 (+8) and 81 (+10) in their respective second attempts on the Jones Course.
Like Springer, Pidgeon's lone birdie came on the par-four 10th to start the day leaving much of the rest of the Trinity veteran's card to be at a consitent pace.
Bunder, the only Tiger to not improve on his first-round performance Thursday, was hampered by a tough attempt at the par-five 14th in what was otherwise primarily an uneventful round.

"It was a great moving day today for the guys as we moved up six spots into the top 10," said Head Coach Sean Etheredge. "We're really looking forward to the final round tomorrow, and a chance to climb further up the leaderboard."
Day Four
Trinity Men's Golf returns for its third attempt at the Jones Course Friday morning for the fourth and final round of the 2021 NCAA III Championship. By virtue of the team's jump in the standings, Pidgeon leads off the Tigers' tee times with another early-morning 7:30 am ET slot, again starting on the back nine.
