SARA FLYNN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior right side from Seattle, Wash., has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 27 through Sunday, October 3. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 5)

Flynn posted back-to-back career-highs in kills for another undefeated weekend for the No. 3 Tigers in Shreveport this past weekend. She had 13 kills (4.33 per set) on an efficient .667 hitting percentage against Austin College, followed by 15 kills (5.00 per set) and a .545 attack rate against Centenary.

For the weekend, Flynn led Trinity in kills (34, 3.78 per set) while hitting an impressive .491 as her efforts helped lead the Tigers to three-straight victories in SCAC play without giving up a set.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior middle hitter Georgia Mullins of Colorado College hit .333 and averaged 3.75 kills per set while leading CC to four-set victories over St. Thomas and Texas Lutheran in Houston last Saturday. She hit .325 with 16 kills in the first match against St. Thomas and .344 with 14 kills against TLU, and had a hand in 37 points on the weekend. Sophomore middle blocker Andie Valenzuela of Southwestern keyed the team's attack from the middle, posting 39 kills on an efficient .400 hitting percentage to average 2.60 kills per set. She also contributed 11 total blocks to finish the weekend with 45.5 points. Senior middle hitter Dayjah Whyte of Dallas ended the weekend averaging 3.18 kills per set with a .342 hitting percentage as the Crusaders took on two of the league's nationally ranked teams - Southwestern and Trinity - among its three conference matches. Whyte had her best match of the weekend against Southwestern, racking up 16 kills with just two errors to hit .438 against the Pirates. Junior outside hitter Kayla Lofland of Schreiner had 48 kills (3.20 per set) to pace the Mountaineers in the team's four conference matches last weekend. She totaled 51.0 points on the week, averaging 3.4 points per set. Senior outside hitter Alyssa Davis of Centenary made history in the Ladies' match versus Schreiner on Friday, recording 20 kills to reach and exceed 1,000 career kills. She entered play last weekend as the SCAC leader in kills with 211, averaging 4.06 per game. Davis is currently second all-time in program history (in the Division III era) in kills and is just 138 behind career leader Desiree Frey. Sophomore outside hitter Hayden Smyers of Texas Lutheran had an all-around great week, making an impact on both the offensive and defensive end, in leading the Bulldogs to a 2-1 record. Offensively, she paced TLU with 21 kills (2.63 kills per set), two service aces and one assist, averaging 3.1 points per set.
