Tomorrow's final 18 holes will begin at 8 a.m. on the par-72, 6,864-yard layout.
With two rounds in the books, Trinity is sitting at 579 (+3) after rounds of 291 and 288. The Tigers had a two-shot lead following Monday's opening round and maintained that same margin when Texas Lutheran University, who had opened with a first round 293, equalled Trinity's 288 in the second round.
Trinity's 579 establishes a new SCAC record for low team score after two rounds, besting the previous mark of 582 which was set by Schreiner University at the 2014 championships. Their 291 opening round equaled the best opening round in SCAC championships history - a mark both the 2012 Oglethorpe University and 2014 Schreiner squads posted.
Texas Lutheran is currently at 581 (+5) and 22 shots clear of both defending champion University of Dallas and SCAC newcomer University of St. Thomas, who are both at 603 (+27) after Monday. Dallas had rounds of 302 and 301 while St. Thomas backed up its opening round 295 with a 308.
Rounding out the standings, Schreiner is fifth at 619 (315-304) and Centenary College is sixth with a two-round total of 621 (302-319).
TLU's Nathan Haley sits atop the individual leaderboard after rounds of 68 and 70 left him at 138 and six under for the tournament - one of just two players under par for the championship. His 138 is the lowest score after two rounds by an individual in SCAC championships history. The 54-hole individual mark is 208 and was set by Zach Oliver of Schreiner in 2014.
Trinity's Daniel Nunez is at two under (142) after rounds of 70 and 72, and his teammate Zac Bunder is third at even par (144) after following up his opening round score of 75 with a 69, which tied for the low round in the afternoon session. TLU's Chase Maus jumped 13 slots up the leaderboard to sixth after also posting a second-round 69.
Bunder and teammate Holden Wisener, as well as Cade Kiser of St. Thomas, lead the field with 10 birdies each following the first and second rounds.
