SUWANEE, Ga. – Trinity University senior guard Tanner Brown was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for the week of January 7th, it was announced by D3hoops.com.
Brown led the No. 9 Tiger men’s basketball team to a close victory over Schreiner last weekend, defeating the Mountaineers 82-81. Brown put up 32 points on 92.3 percent shooting (12-of-13) from the field, 100 percent from the charity stripe (1-for-1) and an astonishing 100 percent (7-for-7) from three-point range. He ended up nailing a game-winning three-pointer and held Schreiner scoreless over the final minute and forty-four seconds of the contest. Brown added five rebounds, three assists and three steals to his career night of 32 points. This extends Trinity’s win streak to 15 games and an unblemished record of 6-0 in conference play.
On the season, Brown is fourth in the SCAC in three-point field goal percentage (41.0), fifth in three-point field goals made (32) and sixth in both assist to turnover ratio (2.1) and points per game (15.2).
Brown is the third different Trinity Tiger to earn national recognition and second in two weeks, joining junior guard Jacob Harvey who was honored last week, and first-year forward Christian Green who was named to the D3hoops.com National TOTW in week four of the 2023-24 season.
