LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the Scholar All-America teams for 2020, with a record 789 collegiate swimming and diving programs, representing 461 institutions earning the honor, including six men's and six women's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams.
Teams were selected on the basis of their Spring grade point averages and represent 17,982 student-athletes.
Additional institutional adjustments to grading systems resulted in GPAs nearly one-quarter letter grade higher than previously. As a result, the CSCAA will not be publishing team GPAs. This Semester’s list also does not include teams at institutions that switched entirely to pass/fail grading.
Colorado College had both teams earn the honor for the tenth consecutive year. Trinity University earned recognition for both the men’s and women’s program for the fourth time in a row, while Southwestern University saw the men’s and women’s program both earn the honor for the second-consecutive year.
Austin College, McMurry University and University of the Ozarks (AR) saw both their men’s and women’s programs honored to bring the total of SCAC teams recognized to 12, the most since the league had 14 teams earn the distinction in 2010.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation’s first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
