Texas Lutheran's Maus Highlights Three SCAC Golfers on PING All-America Team

NORMAN, Okla. -- Led by Third Team selection, Chase Maus of Texas Lutheran University, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) placed three student-athletes on the 2021 NCAA Division III PING All-America Team it was announced this week by the Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA).

The Trinity University duo of Holden Wisener and DJ Springer were two of the 21 student-athletes recognized as Honorable Mention All-America. All three earned All-Region recognition from the GCAA last month.

Maus, a junior from Manor, Texas, ranked 26th nationally in the GolfStat individual rankings for NCAA Division III. He had an adjusted scoring average of 73.98. In nine matchups against players ranked in the Top 100, Maus was 5-4 head-to-head against those players in tournaments.

Wisener, a sophomore from Dallas, Texas and Springer, a junior from Southlake, Texas led the Tigers to its first SCAC conference title since 2013 and an 11th-place finish at the 2021 NCAA Division III Championship in Wheeling, West Virginia this spring.

The 2021 SCAC Golfer-of-the-Year, Wisener paced Trinity at the national tournament with a 31st-place finish after firing a four-day total of 300 (+17).

Springer placed first at the Alamo City Classic on Feb. 8th by shooting a career low 36-hole score of 137 (-5). He also shot a 301 (+18) at the NCAA Championships and placed 34th individually.
