SUWANEE, Ga. -- The All-Region 10 (West) Region team was released by D3Baseball.com on Tuesday and nine Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) athletes were recognized, highlighted by First Team Honoree and Region 10 Pitcher of the Year, Jackson Teer of Trinity University.

This year marks the eighth consecutive season the SCAC has placed seven or more athletes on the D3Baseball.com All-Region team.

Teer, the two-time SCAC Pitcher of the Year, put together an outstanding season helping lead the Tigers to a conference regular season title and another trip to the NCAA Tournament. He led the league with a 1.05 ERA and 112 strikeouts in just 77.1 innings of work for a league best 13.03 strikeouts per nine innings. Nationally, the junior currently leads all of NCAA Division III in ERA, is fifth in strikeouts and 15th in strikeouts per nine innings.

Trinity senior relief pitcher Jonathan Newman joined Teer on the All-Region 10 First Team. Newman finished the year with one save and a perfect 5-0 record in relief for the Tigers this season. In 36.1 innings of work, Newman allowed just two earned runs to post a sparkling 0.50 ERA and limited opponents to just .225 at the plate. A First Team All-SCAC honoree, Newman also struck out 35 batters and didn’t allow a single home run is his 18 appearances.

In addition, the SCAC had three athletes land on the All-Region 10 Second Team in Schreiner’s Aiden Warren, Trinity’s Joseph Chavana and Centenary’s Cody Meyers.

Warren, a two-time First Team All-SCAC selection, led the conference in hits with 65 and finished second in the league in both batting average (.408) and doubles (14). The senior also finished the season tied for sixth in the SCAC with 38 runs scored. Warren’s selection marks the second-straight year a Mountaineer has earned All-Region honors.

Chavana returns to the D3baseball.com All-Region team following second team honors in 2022. A two-time First Team All-SCAC honoree, Chavana finished the year second in the SCAC with a 2.31 ERA, tied for third in wins with seven and seventh with 65 strikeouts.

Meyers, a First Team All-SCAC selection, finished with an impressive 10-4 record with a 2.38 ERA in 16 appearances and 13 starts with a team-leading three complete games. Myers allowed just 31 runs (25 earned) and 84 hits in 94.2 IP with a 1.20 WHIP and 8.94 K/9. Myers tied for fourth in wins (10), tied for 16th in strikeouts (94), and ranked 46th nationally in ERA (2.38). Myers had an ERA under 1.00 for the majority of the season and ranked in the top 10 in the conference in IP and opposing batting average.
