Juan Carlos Vidales, Trinity University, Defensive Player of the Week (Week 5)
JUAN CARLOS VIDALES OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior goalkeeper from Laredo, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, March 28th. 
 
Vidales collected five saves across Trinity’s first two home SCAC matches against Southwestern and St. Thomas, leading the Tigers to a 1-0-1 record. The junior keeper collected a shutout through 77 minutes in Sunday’s affair, exiting the action with a 4-0 lead.
 
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior goalkeeper Keleher Felton of Colorado College made a pair of key saves early in the Tigers 2-0 shutout victory over Centenary last weekend. Felton finished the contest with three saves for his fifth clean sheet of his career. Sophomore goalkeeper Goncalo Pernas of Dallas made three saves in the Crusaders 3-1 victory at Austin College last weekend. Freshman goalkeepers Jack Viles of Southwestern registered three saves in a 1-1 draw with Trinity last Friday. In 400 minutes of action Viles has allowed just two goals, one off a penalty kick and the second off a corner kick. Sophomore defender Nestor Ayala of Texas Lutheran led a Bulldog defensive effort that allowed just five shots on goal and surrender the just one goal in TLU’s 5-1 win at Schreiner last Saturday.
