COLT HARRIS OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Katy, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, March 11 through Sunday, March 17. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 6
Harris led the Tigers to an opening SCAC series win over Southwestern last weekend, improving to 11-5 overall. hit .400 (6-for-15) with five runs and five RBI, including a record-tying three home runs in a narrow loss to No. 5 East Texas Baptist. Harris also added a stolen base and finished with two walks to post a .500 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging average.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior infielder Jake Harris of Southwestern batted .438 (7-for-16) with one double and five runs scored over five games for the Pirates last week. Harris added two stolen bases and walked five times to post an impressive .591 on-base percentage. Senior infielder Joseph DiCarlo of Schreiner hit a scorching .800 (8-for-10) for the Mountaineers with one RBI to split an opening two game SCAC series against Austin College. DiCarlo racked up four hits in each contest. First-year infielder RayShawn Riley of Austin College batted .471 (8-for-17) at the plate with five RBI and four runs scored over four games last week for the ‘Roos. Riley finished the week with three multi hit contests, including two three hit performances.
