Azzalini led the 13th-ranked Tiger men's tennis team to a 7-2 road win over No. 38 Hardin-Simmons last week. Azzalini helped the Tigers in sweeping singles against the Cowboys on Saturday, taking a 6-3, 6-4 win at line one. Ranked 13th nationally and third in the region in singles, Azzalini defeated Brice Bradshaw who is ranked 46th in NCAA III and 13th in the region for Hardin-Simmons. Azzalini's straight-set win at line one was also the clincher as Trinity rallied from a 2-1 deficit after doubles play.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year Bernie Clemente of Southwestern picked up a 6-4, 3-6. 10-5 victory at No. 1 singles over Schreiner's Carson Kirk on Saturday. First-year Brody Smith of Texas Lutheran earned his second singles victory as a Bulldog with a 6-2, 6-4, win at Austin College in the #2 draw. Sophomore Steven Kuang of St. Thomas completely dominated his opponent, taking his match, 6-0, 6-0, as the Celts locked up their first victory of the season against 2022 NCAA national tournament competitor Grove City College.
