CHRISTIAN SETTLES AND HAO NGUYEN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, have been named the SCAC Men’s Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Monday, March 21 through Sunday, March 27. It marks the third consecutive week and the sixth time this season the duo have received the honor. (SCAC Men's Tennis Weekly Report - Week 8)
Settles, a senior from Claremont, Calif., and Nguyen, a junior from Sugar Land, Texas, put together back-to-back victories in the No. 2 Chicago and No. 25 Kalamazoo matches, the first of which came against the nation’s 25th-ranked duo. Winners of eight straight, Settles and Nguyen have put together a 13-2 record against NCAA III competition this season.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Jacob Adas and first-year Nate Beerman of Colorado College went 3-0 on the week at No. 3 doubles and were critical in the team's wins against Hobart, Luther and Trinity (Conn.). The duo picked up what may have been the most important set of the team's spring break trip, winning a tiebreaker versus Hobart to avoid the Tigers going down 3-0 after doubles play Probably the most important set of CC's spring break trip. For the entirety of the trip, Adas and Beerman were 5-0.
