DANIEL NUNEZ OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Los Angeles, Calif., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Co-Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played through Tuesday, March 21. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 5)
Nunez shot an even-par 72 in Monday's final round to tie for the top spot in the Texas Cup, winning the title in a playoff. He carded five birdies on Monday and led the tournament with eight total over the 36-hole competition. He was also one of just seven players to record an eagle in the tournament, picking up his on the par-four 10th holes yesterday. Nunez was also one of five golfers named to the All-Tournament Team.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Tobey Wills of Texas Lutheran made five birdies Tuesday en route to an one-under score of 71 to claim his first individual championship of the 2023 season at the Hal Sutton Invitational at the Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City, Louisiana. Wills finished the 36-hole tournament at an even score of 144, winning the event by two strokes. Junior Andrew Bennett of Centenary earned a third-place finish at the Hal Sutton Invitational after shooting a 4-over 76 on Monday and then a 1-under 71 in Tuesday's final round to finish at 147 (+3), just three shots off the top of the leaderboard. Sophomore Rex Soulliere of Dallas paced the Crusaders at the Texas Cup, shooting a 77 in round two, dropping four spots to finish tied for 10th on the individual leaderboard. He was just three strokes from a top five finish and four strokes off individual medal honors. Senior Christian Rodriguez of Southwestern led the Pirates at the prestigious Jekyll Island Collegiate in Jekyll Island, Georgia - shooting a final round 1-over 73 and tieing for 30th overall (219, +3) at the three-day event.
