MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - No. 10 Tiger Men's Tennis falls to No. 25 MIT in the first round of the NCAA Playoffs.
The Tigers (16-9) finished their season with their 14th consecutive SCAC title, as well as earning SCAC Newcomer of the Year and Coach of the Year. Trinity was defeated 2-5 and moved their overall record against MIT to 2-1.
Conor Kaczmarczyk and Aashish Dhanani started on the right foot for the Tigers, winning #3 doubles 8-3. However, MIT stormed back to beat the teams of Jared Perry and Ethan Flores, as well as Rob Chang and Dalton Locke, by a score of 6-8 in doubles line one and two.
Dhanani also got the job in the #4 singles line, winning 6-4, 6-3 to bring the score back to even at 2-2. MIT took the lead back when Flores fell in #5 singles 6-7, 2-6. Perry split the first two sets of his #1 singles match 6-3, 5-7 but dropped the final set 1-6. Connor Whittington also had a seesaw match, winning set two 6-2 after losing 2-6 in set one. However, he would fall in set three 2-6 and MIT took the match 5-2.
