NATHAN EARLY OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Monday, November 1 to Sunday, November 7. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 4)
Competing at the prestigious D3 Shootout last weekend, Early broke the school record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:39.96, just .40 second behind the winner. He then finished second in the 100-yard freestyle hitting the wall in 45.92. Early also swam a leg on the 400-yard medley relay that finished fifth in a time of 3:25.60.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Maz Saenz of Austin College was a double winner for the ‘Roos last weekend in their dual meet against Southwestern. Saenz touched first in both the 50-yard freestyle (22.22) and the 100-yard butterfly (53.82). First-year Jack Hussin of Colorado College post five wins over the course of two dual meet victories against Trinity last weekend, winning three individual events and was a member of two winning relays. On Friday, Hussin touched first in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:47.48 and swam a leg on the winning 200-free relay with a split of 22.44. Then on Saturday, Hussin won the 200-yard free (1:48.51), the 500-yard free (5:04.03) and was a member of the 400-yard free relay with a split of 47.90.
