Azzalini, a senior from Rome, Italy, and Ruiz, a first-year from Zacatecas, Mexico, defended their No. 23 national ranking last weekend as the No. 13 Tigers opened conference action with shutout victories over Texas Lutheran and St. Thomas. Trinity's top-line pairing posted an 8-2 victory over the Celts' Rodrigo Yoshikata and Jace Ware to set the tone for Saturday afternoon's match.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Carson Kirk and graduate student Austin Cervantes of Schreiner posted a 2-0 week for the Mountaineers at top line doubles. The duo defeated Jake Gibson and Jacob Daniell of ETBU, 8-7, (7-0) on Friday and took down LeTourneau's Julian Lee and Miles Grubbs, 8-7, (7-3) on Saturday.
