ERIC LIAO OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Taipei, Taiwan, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, March 13 through Sunday, March 19. It is the second consecutive week he has earned POTW honors. SCAC Men's Tennis Weekly Report - Week 7
Liao led the 11th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team to another successful week that included a victory over defending national champion and sixth-ranked University of Chicago. Liao won the clincher in the match against Chicago, taking a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win at line three to put the Tigers over the top. After Chicago tied things up 3-3 early in singles play, Liao followed up Rob Chang's straight-set win with his three-set victory to make it a 5-3 lead at the time.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior Anton Borovik of Southwestern had two three-set victories over nationally ranked teams this week, including triumps on the No. 6 line against Wesleyan's Chase Kasday (6-7 (2), 6-2, 7-5) and Chicago's Jacob Lowen (6-4, 1-6, 10-5).
